Before you begin, take a few moments to quiet your mind and prepare your heart to receive God’s Word. Read the following passage at least twice, and then pray through the points below.
15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.
Today's Prayer Points
- There is no circumstance in which God will forget us. His love and compassion for us are greater even than that of a mother for her nursing child. Take a few moments to reflect on God’s attention and love for you. This is the God to whom you are praying—a God that never forgets you. Ask Him to make that truth real to you today.
- When we remember those who have gone to the unreached, we image our God who does not forget a single child in His family. When we regularly pray for, advocate for, and support goers, we remind them and ourselves of the love that God has lavished on us all through Christ. Pray that God would plant this truth deep in our hearts—that we would be a people faithful to remember goers and to communicate that support to them.
- Ask God to show our church tangible ways today we can support those who have already gone and those who will go. If you’re not yet on an advocacy team or similar support team, seek out that opportunity. Ask God to clearly show you how to give your time, money, resources, and attention to caring for and remembering goers the way God our Father cares for and remembers us, His dear children.
