Before you begin, take a few moments to quiet your mind and prepare your heart to receive God’s Word. Read the following passage at least twice, and then pray through the points below.
4 Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. 5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. 6 Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace. 7 In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me. 8 There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. 9 All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. 10 For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. 11 Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. 12 I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.
Today's Prayer Points
- Ask God to gladden your soul and listen to your prayer. Trust that He loves you and hears you. Take a few moments to reflect on that truth.
- There is none like God among the gods of the earth, nor are there any works like His (86:8). Cry out to God to show us great and wondrous things among the nations. Ask Him to move right now in the hearts of our church family, that we would want to be an active part of His works among the nations.
- We are desperate and needy for God to teach us His ways, that we may walk in truth. Beg God to solidify His truth in our hearts as we begin this season of prayer. Boldly ask Him to make clear the way for many from our church to go to people who have never heard the gospel, that all the nations He has made will worship Him.
